We are seeking a Scientific Technical Writer, Vaccine Development, who is a highly motivated individual with relevant background to write technical reports about preclinical studies, assist with preparation of scientific manuscripts, and work as a team to advance internal and external communication about vaccine and therapeutic biologic candidates in the Discovery Department. The individual will be a hands-on contributor and will play a key role in documenting results of preclinical studies for regulatory submissions and publications. The candidate is expected to be highly self-motivated, well organized, a great communicator, and a reliable teammate. This position is currently remote with eventual in-person work at our Gaithersburg, MD facility and will report to a senior Scientific Technical Writer.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Write and edit technical reports describing results of preclinical studies and assays
  • Analyze data and present results graphically
  • Participate in discussions about how to present data for publication in scientific manuscripts
  • Assist with writing and editing scientific manuscripts about preclinical studies
  • Collaborate and coordinate with colleagues from Regulatory Affairs, Program Management, and Investor Relations
  • Assist with preparing Powerpoint slides for internal and external presentations
  • Participate in regular progress-tracking meetings to ensure the department and company are meeting critical milestones

Minimum requirements:

  • B.S. in Biological Sciences with 4+ years of experience in scientific communication, OR advanced degree in Biological Sciences or Scientific Communication with 2+ years of experience in scientific communication
  • Experience writing and/or editing technical documents about biological science topics (fields such as immunology, vaccines, biologics, and infectious disease preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook); experience with GraphPad Prism is a plus
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as organization and time management
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a fast-paced team
