We are seeking a highly self-motivated and well organized individual to serve as a Research Associate I / II with immunological assay background to join our preclinical immunology group. The successful candidate will be a hands-on contributor who performs appropriate immunological assays to evaluate various vaccine candidates. This position will be located at our Gaithersburg, MD facility and will report to the senior manager, preClinical Development.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform immunological assays including ELISA, HAI, virus titration and microneutralization assays.
  • Maintain cell lines including MDCK, Vero, and HEp-2.
  • Keep accurate documentation and analyze data with appropriate immunological software.
  • General lab organize and maintenance including equipment maintenance and calibration, assay materials and reagents inventory management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Minimum requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field.
  • Basic background knowledge of chemistry, biology, biochemistry and immunology.
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in research, pharmaceutical and/or vaccine development field.
  • Familiarity with a range of immunological assays including ELISA, HAI, Virus titration, and microneutralization.
  • Hands-on cell culture experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in preclinical animal studies is a plus.
  • Experience with Baculovirus-insect cell expression system is a plus.
  • Experience with SARS-CoV-2, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and influenza virus or other infectious disease viruses is a plus.
  • Experience with flow cytometry and ELISpot Assay is a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Attention to details and accurate record keeping.
  • Team player with ability to work cross-functionally.

This position may require periodic weekend/evening work.
